Education Concern (A Non-Government Organisation) was formed in 2013 with a vision to provide need based education to Persons with Special Needs, Empower their Family and Sensitise the Community. This will enable Persons with Special Needs to have equal rights and better quality of life. To realise this mission Education Concern has vowed to work towards providing opportunities for capacity development of Persons with Special Needs, helping them to attain their rights, empowering their families and facilitating and promoting the creation of an enabling environment and inclusive society Education Concern has also strived to establish a Teacher Training Institute to organize/ conduct training programs at Diploma and Degree Level in the field of Disability Rehabilitation . Continued efforts in this direction brought fruitful results in 2022 with the approval to start a two year full time Diploma in Education Special Education (Intellectual and Development Disability) with intake capacity of 35 students in August month by the Rehabilitation Council of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India for five academic sessions i.e. year 2022-23 to year 2026-2027. Education Concern succeeded in starting the first batch in November 2022 after appointing essential faculty/staff as per laid down norms of the Rehabilitation Council of India. Education Concern has successfully completed two batch i.e. for the year 2022-24 and 2023-25 with pass percentage of 65.14% and 79.5% respectively. Third batch for the year 2024-2026 and fourth batch for the year 2025-27 are continuing. Education Concern has the plan to start more Diploma and Degree courses in the forthcoming years.
